Just Be by Betty Ezenaki
This collection had a really good combination of sturdy fabrics and soft fabrics, I especially like them together in the outfit...though there were also dresses made completely of strudy fabrics and gorgeous pieces made with soft fabrics. The color code was very summery but the tones were kept a little bit down (soft pinks, soft limes and beautiful sky blue). The cuts were kept simple with some great body hugging cocktail dresses and high waisted skirts.Very chic and girlie.
Without a doubt one of my personal favourites..I had the chance of speaking with the designer about her inspiration for this collection. She told me its calles Capri 1976 and its inspired in the 70´s (you all know I love that decade) specifically in the island of Capri, Italy. A truly summery collection that channels resort, glamour and the exclusiveness of the island guests. I love the shine some of the fabrics had and when not shiny they had striking powerful color...loving the lime green..I think I became obssesed with this color during FWP.
Fashion Week veterans, this two designers sure know how to bring glamour to the table...the highlight of this show were the evening gowns...taking about understated glam! To take in consideration the amazing work with lace and embellishment. To me the last gown really resumes the whole spirit of this collection.
I believe that when a model decides to turn her way into being the one behind the collection is a very interesting thing to watch because this collections usually have a very free spirited vibe and just scream coolness! Adriana Arboleda (model and designer) in collaboration with designer Johanna Ortiz managed to make a very comfy looking and street chic cool collection. For the woman who likes to not only look great but feel great, her designs sure capture that uncomplicated spirit. Pieces were kept very simple, I call it street wise, and great detail attention was paid on the scarves and the color code was very neutral with greys and nudes some dusty salmon (yeah I just made up that haha) and with some deep reds and purples to spice it up a bit.
